Art Nouveau Victorian Mahogany Desk Console Vanity Unit Dressing Table
For sale an unusual rare antique Art Nouveau solid mahogany desk or dressing table, dating from the 1890’s late Victorian period. It’s a free standing piece of antique furniture, so looks good from back or front. It has a curved back, with two cupboards & one drawer on the front, which have blind fretwork & delicate brass decorative handles. The two cupboards are lovely and deep providing ample storage for stationary or cosmetics. Would make a lovely vanity unit, console/hall table or sideboard.
The table is painted in French Grey by Farrow & Ball. However buyer could strip it back to its original former glory if preferred see last listing photograph. The shaped legs sit on the original brass casters. This table is delicate and light weight of quite small proportions, but still has a generous kneehole height for chair or stool if needed.
This table is in very good condition for its age and only show signs of wear on the mahogany top. Which has a few scratches and imperfections. Hardly noticeable due to gloss surface finish. Paint work intact no chips.
