Rosewood Mules/Dowry/Coffer colonial military chest of drawers

A fantastic show-stopping brass bound extra large antique solid chest. Extremely rare and one of a kind.
The chest sits on top of a solid wood stand with three drawers. The front has a large central decorative brass pull, escutcheon, and lock, with plenty of decorative brass plates accompanying the edges. The interior of the lid has three heavy brass hinges with a brass cabinet lid stay to hold the lid in place when in use. All original fittings with locks and escutcheons on the drawers below.
This type of chest was produced to transport, store and protect garments and possessions.  An exotic style practical chest with huge decorative appeal, a stunning piece to elevate any space, ideal for use as storage.
This piece is extraordinary. Well looked after. Achieving an excellent colour and patina with atmospheric wear commensurate with age, use and purpose.
There is slight damage on the inside on right edge and a small hairline crack left hand corner. In excellent antique condition.
